Raising Taxes!

i think it should a be mixture of tax increases and cutting spending. if the taxes are too high then some people will complain and if there is too many spending cuts then the others will complain. it is a matter of what the american citizens agree on and in my opinion it should be a mixture. the republicans refusing to increase taxes is ridiculous, because if they want our economy to rise then eventually you will have to help out and not just rely on the government to do all the work. i think the democratic view on more taxes and less spending cuts is reasonable, because they want to help by spending their money to help out our country.

  2. I agree with that. By raising taxes people will spend less. We are already in this situation because business are following the governments lead. With state and federal government spending more than they take in is setting the tone for businesses to do the same.

  4. It is a little wierd that Bush would lower taxes during a time of war. I guess the main thing to remember when trying to understand a politician is all he wants to do is help those who elected him into office.Right now our country is a huge debt, so we need to have more of a Democratic mindset.

  5. Okay Dana, we should probably not be questioning Bush's tactics as president, he is a significant reason we are in this mess. The only person who truly knows what that man was doing was his Daddy. Anyways that is beside the point. I completely agree with what alec is saying here, the extremes of the two different sides is getting ridiculous. NO ONE knows how to fix this crazy economy so why not mediate...makes sense to me.
