NFL or Neurosurgeon

Myron Rolle should be a role model to all! He played for Florida Seminoles and is putting off the NFL to become a neurosurgeon. He’s heading to Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar in September as he takes a year away from the game to become a neurosurgeon. Rolle could have been drafted in the first or second round if he chose to keep playing. He is trying to stay in shape and hoping to be an early draft pick in the 2010 draft. I think he should be the type of person we look up to now a days. He shows that just because he can do one thing it doesn't mean he should quit something else.

  1. Projected 2010 first-day pick Myron Rolle is currently training in Florida as he awaits attending Oxford University to study to be a neurosurgeon this fall.
Rolle trains in the morning, then shadows orthopedic surgeon Dr. Brad Homan in afternoons. A Rhodes Scholar at Florida State, Rolle's commitment to football will be an issue during the pre-draft process next spring. He is an extremely gifted individual, but is sitting out this year to study.

  2. What a bad ass. He truly is someone I look up to now. The bad thing is, being a surgeon alone, or an intern, or just a student, will really take up a little too much time to fully devote to football. The amazing thing is that he has two EXTREMELY high paying careers on either side of him. Whatever decision he makes, I'm sure he'll be successful, it just depends which makes him happier I guess. Either way, without a doubt he is a clear American role model. Suck on that other countries.
