Share the Wealth!

My question is why dont people such as 40 billion dollar Bill Gates, 37 billion dollar Warren Buffet, 22.5 billion dollar Lawrence Ellison or 17.8 billion dollar Jim Walton and family help us get out of this economic crisis? I know this is very democratic and they worked very hard to earn their money buttttt y cant they help our country when we need it? Bill Gates for example, made approximately 300 per second.... doesnt he want to help this country?

  1. I agree with you. Even thought these people have a lot of money they should still be able to help the economy. I would like to see them help turn the economy around even with advice to our legislators.

  2. He should help as much as he can, but he should defiantly not be required to. The top 10% wealthy of America should donate a fair sum to help the community. However, it is their money and they work hard to make it and to keep it so that it does not get taken from them. People can stimulate the economy themselves by not being cheap, they should not go crying to others who have more than they do.

  3. I feel that these EXTREMELY wealthy people should WANT to help the economy and not throw their money away buying 10000 dollar SHOE LACES! It is just so ridiculous to me. I get where Jason is coming from but with people like Paris Hilton, Nichole Richi, Lindsey Lohan, Tila Tequila, Glenn Beck, Lauren Conrad (anyone on the Hills for that matter), these are all people who are in the top percentages for wealthy people do NOTHING to get their money and do NOTHING to help. It is soooo ridiculous, money is wasted everyday.

  4. In theory this idea sounds very good. These overly wealthy individuals do not need that much money and they need to share it. However these people worked very hard for their money and how will they know it will actually help. If they start buying more things the rest of the nation needs to become confident that our economy can change. If they give their money to the government it is quite likely the money will not be spent on economic problems.
